Most visitors to Liverpool tend to stay in the immediate city centre where the views and architecture are at their most impressive (we do recommend a sunset walk by the river), however, sometimes it’s worth venturing just a little further out, especially if you’re after a very good cup of coffee.

Rose Lane Coffee has been around for a few years now and thanks to its location one one of the lovelier streets in South Liverpool, it’s amassed a loyal client base. The café’s size is more suited to smaller groups or individuals (there are seats by the shop front window, so you can watch the world go by as you sip your Americano) so you’ll usually see local students working on their laptops, young mums having a quick coffee while their babies nap, and friends catching up over delicious doughnuts.

In fact, you’ll find lots of different treats to go with your speciality coffee (more on that in a second), with fresh cakes and pastries available daily.

The coffee though, is truly special – sourced from speciality roasteries around the country and beyond from Cornwall to Amsterdam, the selection changes on a regular basis. You can buy bags of beans to take away and they can grind them for you too. The staff are as knowledgeable as they are friendly, so if coffee’s your thing then you may need to make Rose Lane Coffee your regular hangout.

The Liverpool-loving owners are keen to give back to their community too so they organise regular exhibitions by local artists: the artists gain a new display space and the customers get to enjoy the art – a great deal for everyone involved.
