Do you ever get bored with how things always look so ordinary? Everything is so normal these days. If you feel like distorting your reality a little, you are in luck. The Museum of Illusions has opened its first UK location right here in Manchester

Age does not matter when it comes to optical illusions and immersive experiences. Bring your family, bring your friends and get lost in the exhibits, designed to make you question your senses.

The Museum is filled with holograms, full-scale illusion rooms, optical tricks and a twist on those playful mirrors you might have come across at funfairs when you were young. A little nostalgia perhaps.

There is a Vortex Tunnel for those of you who enjoy feeling disorientated, as well as the kaleidoscope of colours in the Infinity Room. Or have your mind really boggled in the Reversed Room , I will let you imagine what that entails.

The museum is made to challenge the perception of reality, we all need a bit of that from time to time. They have even tailored the Manchester Branch to create an experience that feels a little closer to home.

Building Illusion
Museum of Illusions

There are tram-inspired illusions in the Reversed Room, the eyes of a famous Manchester persona in the Following Eyes Illusion and the opportunity to ‘hang’ (not literally, it’s an illusion obviously) from an iconic Manchester building in The Building Illusion.

And that is just to name a few. There are over 65 exhibits in the Museum. Some are entire rooms, built to be completely immersive and challenge both mind and body. Others are simple wall-mounted optical illusions.

Who doesn’t enjoy being delightfully tricked. The goal of the museum is to offer a space where you can explore the wonders of perception. Whether you are a fan of science, illusions or just simply curious, The Museum of Illusions will have something to offer you.
