Something of a newcomer to Merseyside’s art scene, Lake Gallery is an artist-led commercial gallery that host a regularly changing programme of exhibitions. As well as painting and printmaking, they showcase work in ceramics, glass and other contemporary takes on traditional craft. All of the art is on sale, so if anything catches your eye, you can actually take it home.

Lake Gallery often organises shows based on landscape and seascape motifs as well as the everyday beauty of still life. Located by the sea in West Kirby, on the Wirral peninsula, they often work with artists local to the area, as well as those who work further afield. You won’t find challenging conceptual work in the Lake Gallery but rather paintings and works in other mediums that please the eye, brighten up a space and make you feel at home.

The elegant space is run by artists Helen Smith, Clare Flinn and Marianthi Lainas, all of whom put a lot of love and passion into making the gallery a beautiful and inviting space, and work closely with the artists to ensure their work is displayed in the best possible light.

The gallery is open 10am – 4pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday and if these times are not convenient for your visit, you can always contact them to make an appointment. Otherwise, you can always browse the work currently on display on the gallery’s website and enquire about purchasing pieces too.
