Visit the Knowsley Safari Park to get up close to the magnificent lions, curious camels and mischievous monkeys! With the longest safari drive in the UK, it’s the perfect family day out filled with fascinating creatures and their habitats.

The Park has lots to offer, but first and foremost, you’ll probably want to explore the sights of the Safari Drive: it’s five miles long, takes about an hour to complete and you can go round as many times as you like, so if you’ve missed that lion’s mane the first time,  you can always take another look. Along the Drive you’ll see some incredible wild creatures: lions, camels, capybaras, yaks, deer, rhinos, ostriches, baboons and more.

The route is split into 11 zones, each one created for a different group of animals. The monkey jungle is probably the most popular section with cheeky baboons who can come right up to the car. If you’d rather not risk the windshield wipers of your brand new vehicle, there’s a car friendly route too that allows you to watch them from afar. Alternatively, you can take the Baboon Bus too which is specially fitted with ropes and ladders for them to swing from, right in front of you!

Next up is the Foot Safari, a walking trail that includes tigers. meerkats, giraffes, sea lions and bears. The Tiger Trail includes the Dinner Dash sprint game – test your speed and see if you can outrun a tiger in pursuit of prey. Bear Country is where you’ll meet the elusive Andean bears but remember, they can be a little shy so patience in key if you want to spot one.

Once you’ve enjoyed all of the animal stops, you might need a need a snack so head to the restaurant or café to refuel. Fancy some more fun? The amusements area has lots of rides to choose from.

Knowsley Safari Park works hard with a dedicated team to contribute to conservation efforts to protect the animals, both locally and across the world.

Come and visit to experience this wild adventure at first hand.

Theatre in the North

This season’s theatre is gloriously eclectic: from radical cabaret and reinvented classics to new musicals and boundary-pushing performance.
