Green Room Leeds, 36 Wellington St, Leeds, LS1 2DE – Visit Now
It’s been a long time in the pipeline but Green Room is set to open in Leeds city centre in spring/summer 2022. Billing itself as a social space, canteen, bar and roof terrace, this plant-based venue will serve as a place to pop in for food and coffee during the day, before transforming into a bar space, complete with dancing patrons and alcoholic drinks, in the evening.
The roof space is one of the main draws, offering a south-facing, sun-soaked terrace that will be ideal for outdoor eating, pop-up parties and summer BBQs. And while covid still swirls around, albeit to a less horrifying degree, an open-air space to mingle with friends, family and strangers will have huge appeal to the people of Leeds.

It’s been a long time coming. Work on the venue first started back in November 2020 and it was said to be opening in spring last year, but now the date has been pushed back to 2022.
Co-founders Will Habergham and PJ Gardner are passionate about sustainability and the environment, using a wealth of reclaimed or recycled materials whenever possible during the refurb.
Will said: “By day the terrace will make the perfect setting for people who need a relaxed environment to work from, brunches, lunches, and by night the perfect setting for after-work cocktails and sunset music led events. In the winter months, we plan to utilise the space for pop-up markets or similar outdoor events that have become so much more important over the last year. We are so excited to bring our vision to life and create a unique and creative space where customers can enjoy the bar and restaurant and utilise the space to work from, or simply socialise.”
