Curzon is one of the largest cinema chains in the country specialising in arthouse and independent releases, and their Sheffield city centre branch is no different. Visitors can expect a reliable programme which features the best low-budget and foreign language films sat alongside the occasional big-budget blockbuster.

Following an impressive refurbishment, the Curzon in Sheffield opened in 2015. With the use of modern stone and timber floors, and reclaimed materials, the cinema’s design fully embraces Sheffield’s industrial and steelworks heritage. Unfinished steel ceiling tiles teamed with dramatic lighting, and timber and steel cladding within the auditoriums maintain the city’s rich history.

Occupying a former bank hall and Grade II listed building, this comfortable, boutique cinema has three small-ish screens as well as a private viewing area. There’s also a popular rooftop bar and terrace – serving food and drink – perfect for pre and post-film discussions on sunny afternoons. Additionally, the Curzon offers a weekly family film programme and Baby Club, with relaxed screenings for parents and carers of babies under one.

In line with the latest government restrictions, Curzon Sheffield is temporarily closed. However, you’ll find all the latest releases alongside classic films and hand-picked collections online at Curzon Home Cinema.
