One of Blackpool’s many “number one” fish and chip shops, C Fresh is an old school chippy near the prom, consistently busy with locals – a sure-fire sign it’s doing something right.

Unlike the likes of Papa’s down the other end of the prom, C Fresh is a casual and decidedly affordable spot – the kind of place you can fill your boots and still get change from a tenner. Not that they skimp on quality. Take a look at Trip Adviser reviews and they’re absolutely glowing, the 6oz Norwegian haddock, coated in a light, crispy batter, a clear star of the menu.

But there’s plenty more to dig into here, including that elusive but sacred thing among Blackpool chippies: a full English, as well as more standard fare like Hollands pies, burgers and battered sausages. No less elusive is the alcohol license the premises holds, meaning you can wash down your chips with an ice cold beer.

Tuck into your food in the intimate restaurant area, or, if you’re like your chips al fresco (and what sane person doesn’t), there’s seating around the side, or a whole beach to plonk yourself on across the road.

So if you find yourself near Central Pier and need a cheap and cheerful bite to eat, this is your place.
