FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), is an arts centre which champions the use of groundbreaking technology in creative spaces. Nestled into the cultural hub of Liverpool with Bold Street and venues like the Arts Club only a short walk away, it’s perfectly positioned to absorb and reflect the cultural beating heart of the city. Visit them to experience thought-provoking exhibitions, see a variety of cult classic and art house gems of cinema in one of their four screens or get stuck into being creative yourself with one of their workshops.

Workshops can range from debates and discussions around arts and the future uses of technology, through to hands-on sessions looking at spatial sound in FACT’s state-of-the-art Studio/Lab. They often have arts bodies such as Artists’ Union England host talks around issues affecting professional and amateur artists. The Lab is a space as much a space for experimental thought as it is a state of the art facility for literal experiments. Other workshops are hosted by the studio residents of FACT, sharing their skills and artistic practices with people of all ages and abilities. They are usually open to all with no previous experience of creativity or technology required.

Much like the programming of the gallery spaces and cinema, the workshop programme often highlights contemporary themes involving new technology such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and social justice issues affected by art and technology. The Studio/Lab also runs a skills development programme, which supports artists and young people to try out new ideas and gives them time and space to think creatively.

Alongside workshops you can also take a free guided tour of the current exhibitions at FACT. These are led by the charismatic visitor experience team and start at 1pm every Tuesday to Sunday.
