Fancy being whisked away together to the bottom of the ocean to visit the majestic palace of the Dragon King, ride on the shell of a turtle and discover a mysterious treasure?

Opera North continue their mission to challenge conventional perceptions of opera this week by bringing a special interactive production for small people to The Lowry.

Inspired by current production Madama Butterfly together with traditional Japanese Folktales, The Kingdom Under The Sea is a captivating storytelling experience for little ones aged four and above, cocooned in a specially designed indoor tent.

Led by award-winning storyteller (and “one woman tour de force”) Ursula Holden Gill together with flautist Jenna Thackray, we can expect magic and enchantment of the highest order.

At 45 minutes long it’s a perfect length for the wriggliest of audiences too.

There are three performances of The Kingdom under the Sea on Saturday: 11.30am, 12.45pm and 2.30pm.
