Subtitled a “Cross-genre Celebration”, for her launch of not one but two new books, Tania Hershman will be joined by poet Jo Bell and Kate Feld, writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, with some readings across genres!

Tania’s debut full poetry collection, Terms and Conditions (she is already the author of a poetry chapbook) is published by Nine Arches Press this month while her third, science-inspired short story collection, Some Of Us Glow More Than Others, is out with Unthank Books. Tania is also curator of the ShortStops website, worth checking out for news of short story activity across the UK and Ireland, and she is working towards a PhD in Creative Writing inspired by particle physics. As you do.

Support comes in the form of Jo Bell, described by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy as “one of the most exciting poets writing today”, and recognisable from the Nationwide telly adverts, and Kate Feld, author of essays, poetry and short fiction and co-founder of creative non-fiction journal and reading series The Real Story.

In the meantime, pop Waterstones Deansgate’s monthly literary quiz in your diary: Monday 24 July at 6.30pm in the cafe on the second floor. It’s free to enter and the winning team gets to nip off with a selection of books. More here.

Theatre in the North

Theatre across the North West splits between festive escape and sharp, urgent work exploring politics, power and resistance.
