Fancy a taste of Spain without stepping foot out of Manchester? Head down to Instituto Cervantes for their Summer Open Day.

The Instituto Cervantes hosts Spanish language classes and cultural activities including performance, literature, music, cinema and art all year round, and you get to sample it all for free when the venue throws its doors open this July.

Expect Spanish food and wine (yes, all for free), live demonstrations of flamenco, tango and salsa dancing, activities that the whole family can enjoy, plus prizes including a free language course. All of the events are presented in English too, meaning that you don’t need to be a Spanish speaker to enjoy them.

The Summer Open Day offers a taster of upcoming events at Instituto Cervantes too – with the dance demonstration signalling the start of the World Flamenco Congress. The centre’s year-round cultural programme also includes visits from major film directors and writers, screenings and readings, and Spanish language classes (in-person and online) for all ages and abilities. Anyone attending the Summer Open Day bags a 10% discount on all classes too.

Take a trip to Instituto Cervantes on Deansgate to experience the flavour of Spain this summer.
