PepperLand is a new dance work features an original score by American composer Ethan Iverson, inspired by songs from Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Both the album’s title song, as well as With a Little Help From My Friends, A Day in the Life, When I’m Sixty-Four, Within You Without You and Penny Lane, provide the source material for these interpretations, performed by the MMDG Music Ensemble – an unusual sextet made up of voice, theremin, soprano sax, trombone and two keyboards.

This staging of PepperLand, produced by the Mark Morris Dance Group in association with partners in USA, Canada and Liverpool, is the only UK performance by the company this year.
