Manchester is blessed to have a range of local distilleries right on the doorstep. With so much competition, each distillery has been trying to find their signature taste, resulting in a wide variety of locally produced and delicious beverages for us to enjoy. While the bars are still closed and the hopes of enjoying hand crafted cocktails in a late night gin bar may be a distant dream, the Spirit of Manchester Distillery is delivering the best of their gins to your doorstep, so you can enjoy an artisanal gin tasting from the comfort of your own home.

In a video that can be found on the Spirit of Manchester’s youtube channel, the distillery’s founders and expert brewers Seb and Jen will lead you through the story of the Spirit of Manchester, the distilling process and most importantly, the contents of your box. They’ve put together a series of gins and tonics to create the perfect serve for each drink. You can be sure you’re in good hands as The Spirit of Manchester previously broke the world record for the largest gin tasting event ever, taking over 1800 gin enthusiasts on a botanical journey.

As part of the experience you’ll receive two Manchester Gin glasses, four of the distillery’s gins with a mixture of classic and fruity flavours and four tonics that have been hand picked to perfectly compliment each gin. Some other additions the distillery recommends are ice and a selection of garnishes. These can be anything from peppercorns to fresh mint to dried citrus fruits, each will give the drinks that expert finish, elevating it from a homemade G&T to something special. Garnish suggestions can be found via the booking link.

This experience is usually a live event, but the at home tasting is a great replacement while we wait till the Spirit of Manchester Distillery can once again reopen its doors and we go drink their gin in situ.
