Calling all little horrors! This October half-term, venture into the stunning and very eerie world of Elizabeth Gaskell’s House for a spook-tacular Halloween family experience. Bring your mischievous little goblins along, and let their creativity run wild as they embark on a hauntingly fun arts and crafts adventure, with activities open from 11 am to 4.30 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, from 22 October to 2 November.

There’s so much to do this October half-term at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House, with arts, crafts and colouring galore, and other fun activities throughout the grounds. Young witches and wizards will love getting into the Halloween spirit as they craft their own brilliant bat to take home, using pine cones, card, and paper! And the best part? No messy spells to clean up afterwards! Not just those batty bats though, you’ll find lots more arts and crafts along the way as you explore the stunning setting of this historic house. Plus, you can get involved with a thrilling Cranford the Cat Trail that winds its way around the house – all included in your admission.

Not only fun and a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit, the price is also reasonable, making it an easy day out in Manchester if pennies are tight. The cost is £7 for adults, and guess what? Kids under 16 enter for FREE. Tickets can be pre-booked up to a month in advance.

The Whitworth Café, Art Garden and Collections Care Centre are also open from May to June. The rest of the gallery remains closed while we install our next exhibitions, following COVID-19 safety guidelines.
