The lush Northern Italy locations of Call Me By Your Name have experienced a boost in tourist numbers since the film’s release last year. Idyllic villages, tranquil countryside and the rush of burgeoning sexuality have always made fertile ground for cinema. Director Luca Guadagnino, working from a James Ivory adaptation of a André Aciman novel, adds another great film to a rich tradition. Notable for star making performances from Timothée Chalamet as a prodigious 17-year-old and Armie Hammer as his father’s research assistant, this gay romance has atmosphere in spades and no shortage of feeling.
