Join Jennifer Little for a tour of the Portico Library’s current exhibition, ENTWINED: Knowledge and Power in the age of Captain Cook. Please note that the tour will be taking place only in British Sign Language, there will be no spoken English. However, expect a fully comprehensive and detailed look at the collection exploring colonialism and relationships between Britain and Asia in the 19th Century. As part of the exhibition, you will get to see Cook’s illustrated journals and accompanying publications as well as exploring the building itself and the priceless collection of books belonging to the library.

The Portico Library is a gem of history within the bustling city centre. Still housed in its original purpose built space on Mosley Street, the Library hosts a range of talks exhibitions and events. As a previously members only library, it contains a unique collection spanning over 450 years.
