Journey into the tunnels of Stockport Air Raid Shelter for a fascinating insight into the lives of local people in wartime Britain. Every second Wednesday of the month at 7pm there is the opportunity to venture into this labyrinth with the Air Raid Shelter’s explorer tour. This fully guided public tour will take you to areas of the shelters that are usually closed during the daytime, including tunnels that still have the original beds in place. With a guide to lead the way and answer any questions, the explorer tours are a much more personal way to experience the Air Raid Shelter and in the evening you have the chance to see the Shelters in a new light.
