The city centre Leeds Art Gallery is blessed with a fine historic collection (in particular of 20th century art) and a changing series of contemporary exhibitions. The host for the annual Northern Art Prize, it also boasts a close and literal connection to local lad, Henry Moore: the gallery is linked via a bridge to the Henry Moore Institute and also displays seminal works by the sculptor.
