Hawkshead Brewery

Alex Saint

The Hawkshead Brewery, was founded in 2002 in Town End Farm outside Hawskhead. Such has been its success that it rapidly outgrew is 7 barrel brew plant and had to move to a rather splendid purpose built brewhouse in Staveley, near Kendal, where you find it sandwiched between an artisan bakers and a serious destination cycling shop. A perfect trio. Founder Alex Brodie learnt the beer trade travelling the world as a foreign -correspondent, and at the brewhouse you’ll find the usual tours, food and off-sales – but it’s also worth checking out what’s on as they also run a pretty darn good programme of music events too.
