Tucked just a short stroll from Southport’s elegant Lord Street, Victoria Park is a 34-acre green space that blends tranquil charm with a vibrant cultural calendar. While it’s a peaceful spot for a picnic or a family kickabout, it’s also one of the North West’s most dynamic outdoor venues, hosting some of the region’s most beloved events.

The park’s biggest claim to fame is the Southport Flower Show, a four-day horticultural spectacle that has drawn crowds since the 1950s. Each August, over 55,000 visitors flock to see world-class garden displays, celebrity guests, and a buzzing marketplace of plants, food, and crafts.

Victoria Park is also home to the British Musical Fireworks Championship, a dazzling competition where pyrotechnics are choreographed to music in a unique, immersive experience. Foodies, meanwhile, mark their calendars for the Southport Food and Drink Festival, a free-entry celebration of local flavours and street food favourites.

Beyond the headline events, the park hosts everything from dog shows to classic car rallies, comedy festivals to antique fairs. Its open lawns, traditional bandstand, bowling greens, and children’s playground make it a year-round favourite for locals and visitors alike.

Whether you’re there for a major event or a quiet afternoon in the sun, Victoria Park captures the spirit of Southport — relaxed, welcoming, and always ready to surprise.
