Hesketh Farm Park is a fun packed family day out for all ages. With tractor rides, animals to feed and stroke and lots of activities and events to explore, this farm park has everything you would want from a day out in the countryside.

Hesketh is home to all the usual farm animal inhabitants you’d expect to find in the Yorkshire Dales as well as tortoises, guinea pigs and miniature donkeys. The feeding times for the animals are on the Hesketh farm website so you can time your visit around seeing your little one’s favourite animals get their dinner.

In the Main Barn you can sit and cuddle the very patient guinea pigs, learn about egg incubators and what happens when eggs hatch. You can also learn about the needs and care of the individual animals, why the pigs need brushing, how to handle very tiny chicks and what each animal likes to eat. On a nice day you can also take a stroll round the paddock and meet the Donkeys, Horses and Ponies close up.

After meeting the animals there’s plenty of fun to be had in the giant sand pit, straw maze and pedal tractors. If you visit after 2:15 pm you can even join farmer Chris in the full sized tractor. Outside you’ll also find a track and Go Karts where your smaller people can have fun racing each other, or grappling with the giant spider’s nest and agility course.

There are plenty of indoor and outdoor picnic benches for you to get comfortable at and enjoy lunch, snacks or (for parents) a well deserved cup of tea.

As well as a year round calendar of special events, Hesketh Farm Park also offers the chance to celebrate your birthday with the animals, check their website for further details.
