Sat on Market Place  in the heart of Macclesfield, opposite fellow local indie success story Flour Water Salt, Fiveclouds Tap & Bottle is the high street home of Fiveclouds Brewing Co. This small gypsy brewery specialises in creating modern and progressive seasonal beer in keg, can and cask. Part of a boom in small scale craft beer that has taken the region by storm over the last decade, Fiveclouds has staked a place as one the most interesting brewers going.

Part of a boom in small scale craft beer that has taken the region by storm over the last decade, Fiveclouds has staked a place as one the most interesting brewers going.

A small, no-fuss, beer focused bar fitted out in cosy timber and gleaming metal, the brewery’s Tap & Bottle shop has quickly become something of a mecca for aficionados from Macc and beyond. With ten keg and one cask line, there is nowhere better to get a taste of what Fiveclouds is all about. With a revolving cast of IPAs, stouts, pale ales, sours and even the occasional cider to sample, there’s always something new on offer.

Of course, we wouldn’t advise that you try everything in one visit. Happily beers are also available for you to take away and test at your leisure, with Fiveclouds own brews joined by a variety of international fridge fillers. For those less enthused by the pints, the bar does serve a range of speciality wines, gins and other spirits. Fiveclouds Tap & Bottle is dog-friendly and boasts some outdoor seating for those rare sunny afternoons. On colder days, we recommend heading down to the cosy cellar to put the world to rights.
