One of Europe’s fastest-growing car brands has chosen St Ann’s Square in Manchester as its latest home. The CUPRA City Garage is now open, but don’t expect a traditional showroom.

Already based in Paris, Mexico City, Sydney and Vienna, CUPRA’s international expansion is driven by culture as much as cars, and Manchester’s creative energy has clearly caught their attention.

Blending Mediterranean flair with Northern character, the venue offers more than a simple look under the bonnet. This is a hub for connection, creativity and culture, where food, music, wellness and design sit firmly in the driving seat.

First stop: food. CUPRA has teamed up with Unagi, a favourite of many of  the city’s sushi lovers. Whether you’re grabbing a box to go or settling in for a bite, it’s fresh, fast and flavoursome.

Drinks come courtesy of Hip Pop – those colourful cans of gut-friendly fizz with live cultures and zero sugar – now available on tap from tanks installed on the café roof. And if you’re after something cool and green, try the frozen matcha. It’s green tea levelled up for the summer heat.

The space also hosts live DJs every Saturday from 5pm – imagine a laid-back Boiler Room with better snacks – alongside weekly movement sessions covering everything from yoga to dance. Wednesdays are for ideas, with talks and Q&As from local changemakers across food, music and design. Matching Manchester’s forward-thinking spirit, the CUPRA City Garage is a space built to keep evolving.
