Ian Jones, Food and Drink Editor

Christmas might be done and dusted but that doesn’t mean we’re going to hibernate until spring – there are plenty of exciting things to do in and around Manchester, especially in Spinningfields. Even better, the food and drink world has its own equivalent of the January sales, only here you don’t have to queue up for hours to return some socks, it’s all about eating and drinking well, while taking advantage of all the deals out there to lighten the load on your pocket.

And this vibrant, stylish district of Manchester is one of the best out there when it comes to January offers. Not only is it a pleasure to walk around thanks to the beautiful architecture and tip-top upkeep, it’s also home to some of the best restaurants, bars, tearooms and hangouts in the whole city.
