For many, WIRE are the definitive post-punk band. The London quartet have spent four decades and 16 albums paring rock down to its essence. Balancing experimentation and accessibility with every release, they’ve never faltered in their vision. They’ve also never traded on past glories, pushing ever forward since their startling 1977 debut, Pink Flag.

WIRE’s upcoming album Mind Hive is their first newly recorded material since 2017’s acclaimed Silver/Lead – an album that against all odds produced career-best sales. From what we’ve heard of their new one – particularly the most recent single, ‘Cactused’ – Mind Hive might just top it.
