New event series Transformer pays homage to the Velvet Underground’s Lou Reed, whose visionary approach to rock is reflected in the line-up of this inaugural event on Bank Holiday Sunday 28 May.

Over the course of 10 hours, the likes of Swans, The Fall, Royal Trux, This Is Not This Heat, Loop, Mueran Humanos, Suuns, Sex Swing, Crass’ Little Annie and JC Flowers will perform across Victoria Warehouse’s two stages – ticking multiple boxes for avant-garde and post-rock fans. One of the musical highlights comes from This Is Not This Heat, who will make their first Manchester appearance in 30 years.

As well as live music, Transformer will offer a record fair, food stalls, a cinema, DJs and more – aiming to provide a festival experience without the risk of bad weather.
