Raymond Briggs’ classic story of The Snowman has transfixed generations of children, whisking them off to a magical wintery wonderland. This November, Birmingham Repertory Theatre bring this enchanting live stage show to Manchester Opera House.

You’d have to be the most sneering scrooge not to love this wintry performance.

Based on the much-loved animation film and book, the stage show features a shimmering array of characters: a beautiful snow princess, a wicked Jack Frost, a colony of dancing penguins and the man himself, Father Christmas. We think that this show offers little ones a perfect introduction to dance, as well as being the perfect festive treat for all of the family.

Running at approximately 1 hour 45 mins, the performance features wonderful dancing, a healthy dose of magic and live music, which, of course, includes the obligatory and unforgettable seasonal classic, ‘Walking in the Air’.

Is it even Christmas without The Snowman? The beautiful story in all of its creative forms has become a must-do Christmas activity. Featuring lively choreography by Robert North and a timeless musical score and lyrics by Howard Blake, this spellbinding performance has been seen and loved by millions.

A perfect introduction to dance, as well as being the perfect festive treat for all of the family.

Visiting Manchester as part of a UK and international tour, snap up the opportunity to see this balletically beautiful show for yourself. Warm your cockles and let your heart melt – you’d have to be the most sneering scrooge not to love this wintry performance.
