Odeon Great Northern plays host to the regional premiere of The Man From Mo’Wax this August. A showcase for the life and career of DJ, music producer and trip hop mogul, James Lavelle, the documentary promises a lively trip behind the curtain as it explores Lavelle’s work as founder of pioneering record label Mo’Wax and his rise to fame as a member of musical outfit, UNKLE.

Constructed from interviews, personal archive and exclusive home videos from both James Lavelle & DJ Shadow (one of UNKLE’s many collaborators), the film also stars Joshua Homme, Ian Brown, Thom Yorke, Badly Drawn Boy, Futura, Grandmaster Flash and 3D of Massive Attack.

The screening will be accompanied by a Pitchblack Playback of an exclusive mix from UNKLE’s forthcoming album and a live Q&A with Lavelle, streamed from the BFI in London.
