The Lone Bellow at Band on the Wall
Chris HorkanCited as one of the top 10 reasons to love country music, The Lone Bellow return to Band on the Wall two years on from their last visit.
The American trio formed in Brooklyn in 2011 before relocating to Nashville in 2016. In between, they were snapped up by newly established Sony imprint Descendant Records and released two albums: their self-titled debut in 2013 and 2015’s Then Came the Morning – produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. The latter helped land them a nomination for Group of the Year at the Americana Music Award, as well as appearances on the likes of The Late Show With David Letterman and Later… with Jools Holland, and a UK support tour with Kacey Musgraves.
The group, who returned in 2017 with Walk Into a Storm – this time, produced by fellow Nashville resident (and Jason Isbell collaborator) Dave Cobb – are natural crowd-pleasers, thanks to their luscious harmonies and upbeat, often raucous tunes.
