For the third time in 26 years, Victoria baths will be welcoming visitors to its stunning gala pool to swim! Swim For Restoration will be taking place over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of September, where the pool will be open to swimmers and spectators alike. Those who don’t manage to get tickets will be able to still watch the baths being used for their designed purpose from the balcony.

Guided tours will be running throughout the weekend as there is much more to see than just the pool. For non-swimming visitors and those who want a post dip refreshment, the cafe will be serving sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks.

All the proceeds from Swim for Restoration will be going towards the bath’s full restoration.

The swim is in aid of the ongoing restoration work the baths are currently going through. Since its closure in 1993, a movement was started to protect the building from demolition and bring it back to its former glory. Lead by the Friends of Victoria Baths, they rely on the help of volunteers and supporters to be able to take steps towards the baths opening as a fully functioning swimming pool.

All the proceeds from Swim for Restoration will be going towards this work, and will hopefully mean more events like this can take place in the future.
