Save Our Scene is an initiative designed to support a community of workers from Manchester and Salford’s night-time music scene – some of the hardest-hit workers in the cultural sector, many of whom will not qualify as freelancers and are often on zero-hour contracts. Save Our Scene are working closely with the small and independent venues which make Manchester’s nightlife one of the best in the world; from Band on the Wall and Soup Kitchen to Eastern Bloc and The Peer Hat.

To help raise funds, they are working with Sacha Lord, co-creator of Parklife and The Warehouse Project and Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester, to stream a whopping 12-hour set on Manchester’s new United We Stream website. The line-up isn’t confirmed yet, but we expect sets from Homoelectic, Eastern Bloc DJs including Kerrie, Meat Free DJs and Ordinary Friends.

Manchester’s night time scene is truly precious and the more independent corners of the city are more fragile than the packed bars and clubs at the weekends might suggest. Enjoy this stream and support the initiative over on their Crowdfunder – where there are some amazing prizes to be won.

Keep the scene alive so we can all enjoy it again when this is over.
