Overmono return to The Warehouse Project this October with Pure Devotion – a self-curated night of high emotion, heavy sonics, and a no-messing line-up from the sharpest edges of global club culture.
Informed by their love of hard-edged ’90s rave, trance, and breakbeat, sibling duo Overmono are one of the most exciting acts on the UK’s electronic music scene right now. Raised in Wales, Tom and Ed Russell both had successful music careers before they began collaborating, with Tom known for his hard-edged techno as Truss and Ed for his rave-instilled bass work as Tessela.
Coming together as Overmono in 2015, their first mix of boundary-pushing electronica caught the ear of XL Recordings, who instantly signed them for a string of EPs. These fused big room, trance-inspired arpeggiated riffs and dusty rave breaks, echoing the spirit of early ’90s pirate radio stations.
Their emotion-drenched debut album Good Lies (2023) pushed them further into the limelight, where they’ve stayed while bringing the fire to clubs around the world – including delivering one of the most raved-about Boiler Room sets from any UK act, right here in Manchester.
Now they’re back in the city to lead a blistering night at Depot Mayfield, joined by a new crop of artists operating at the cutting edge. Making a highly anticipated WHP debut is Japanese genre-destroyer ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, whose sets veer from chaos to transcendence in seconds flat. Also appearing are UK bass icon Joy Orbison alongside mic master SP:MC, industrial techno pioneer Blawan, and the ever-uncompromising Helena Hauff.
Over in Concourse, the energy stays high with Interplanetary Criminal, Jyoty, Skin on Skin, Skee Mask and Crystallmess all set to bring the heat. And in Archive, London collective VIRUS take over with a hardwired mix of rap, club and experimental electronics from the likes of Fimiguerrero, DJ EJ, Mechatok, Bill Kouligas, Jawnino, WRAITH9, and more.
It’s a line-up that reflects everything Overmono stand for: fearless, genreless, and deeply rooted in rave history – but always facing forward.
