Spoken word and poetry night On The Mic takes place on the third Tuesday of every month at Left Bank Leeds. Each month is a little different, with local poets and groups hosting and performing, but there will be slots open every month for anyone to perform. For May, Leeds Poetry Festival are back and joined by Spoke Poetry Hub as well as three spotlight performances.

Run by Bradford-based artists, Spoke Poetry Hub is a community organisation that brings together emerging and established poets and performing artists to reach new people and places with poetry and spoken word. As experienced speakers, educators and facilitators, SPH deliver spoken word workshops in various settings across education, rehabilitation and corporate sectors, and broadcast a monthly radio show via BCB 106.6FM.

If you want a slot on the open mic, email poppy@leedspoetryfestival.com.
