This stunning production has been beautifully reimagined by Artistic Director David Nixon OBE. With Tchaikovsky’s legendary score played live by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Swan Lake tells the story of the mysterious Odette – a young woman turned into a swan by the curse of an evil sorcerer.
Following the tragic loss of his brother, Anthony is wracked with guilt. When he finds himself torn between two loves, he looks to a moonlit lake for solace and it is there that he discovers the mysterious swan-like Odette.
Inventive and bold, Northern Ballet are one of the UK’s leading ballet companies. Embracing popular culture and taking inspiration from other art forms like literature, opera and the classics, the company are always looking for new ways to tell stories through movement. Blending a strong classical ballet style with contemporary dance and storytelling, Northern Ballet’s Swan Lake is a visually stunning production, packed full of energy and charm.
