Romeo and Juliet, the greatest love story ever told makes its long-awaited return to UK stages this spring, gliding into Leeds Grand Theatre in March.

We’re delighted that an electrifying revival of Northern Ballet’s 1991 production, by Italian choreographer Massimo Moricone and director Christopher Gable, is set to get hearts racing once more. A true cornerstone in the history of the Northern Ballet, Romeo and Juliet depicts the ultimate tale of forbidden love.

Adapted from the Shakespearean masterpiece – the timeless tale of two young people who are prepared to risk everything to be together – is told through glorious movement, eye-catching sets and visual storytelling. Featuring Prokofiev’s rich score, arguably one of the greatest compositions in ballet, performed live by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Romeo and Juliet is dance at its most dramatic, romantic and intense.

Inventive and bold, Northern Ballet are one of the UK’s leading ballet companies. Embracing popular culture and taking inspiration from other art forms like literature, opera and the classics, the company consistently search for new ways to tell stories through movement. Blending a strong classical ballet style with contemporary dance and storytelling, Northern Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet is one of the company’s most beloved and critically acclaimed productions. A visually stunning show, fast-paced and uncompromising.

Join Northern Ballet at Leeds Grand Theatre to find out if love really can conquer all.
