North by Northeast Goes Cinema
Always double check opening hours with the venue before making a special visit.

There’s an evening of short films from God’s Own Country scheduled at Hyde Park Picture House this June. North by Northeast is a regular short film night hosted by Sally and Fran of Milk Teeth Productions, set up to give local filmmakers a chance to showcase their work on the big screen.
Usually the nights come with some sort of silly interactive element and are specifically aimed at fostering community and collaboration between filmmakers. With that in mind, tickets are available on a Pay What You Can basis (suggested amount is just a fiver) and there will be the opportunity to take part in the “infamous Milk Teeth Raffle”.
Sally and Fran approach their craft with an attitude of play and together they have produced shorts about a variety of themes, including the challenges of online dating and the wild swimming community in Leeds. Anybody involved with low-budget, grassroots film production knows that it can be hard to build and maintain connections and the pair look to be bringing that same attitude to North by Northeast.
The evening promises two halves of short films interrupted by a 30-minute interval which offers an opportunity to network. With most of the filmmakers with work on show in attendance, this might be your chance to find your next collaborator or simply meet likeminded film folk in a fun, low-pressure environment.
