“Twisty page-turners. Domestic dramas. Bone-chilling suspense.” That’s how #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jewell is described by her publisher Simon & Schuster on their home page for her.

Buzzfeed, meanwhile, uses these three descriptions: “superb pacing, twisted characters, and captivating prose”.

We’d add “pretty damn prolific”, as London-born Lisa Jewell has published almost a book a year since her first novel, Ralph’s Party, came out in 1999, when it was the best-selling debut of the year. She has gone on to sell over ten million books worldwide, mostly dark, psychological thrillers, including the evocative Then She Was Gone, the gripping The Family Upstairs, the nail-biting None of This is True and Breaking the Dark, which was published in July 2024 and inaugurated the Marvel Crime Novel series.

Her latest, Don’t Let Him In, is her 23rd and only just out. Farsley indie Truman Books urge you not to miss this opportunity to spend an evening with the “queen of psychological thrillers” and find out more about the the British author’s new addictive read and gain an insight into her writing and publishing journey. Described as a “kaleidoscopic thriller”, three women are connected by one man in Don’t Let Him In: “A seemingly perfect man inserts himself into a woman’s life with devastating effect. He says he loves you. You think he might even be made for you. Before long he’s moved into your house – and into your heart. And then he leaves for days at a time. You don’t know where he’s gone or who he’s with. And you realise – if you looked back – you’d say to yourself: Don’t Let Him In.”

This event is being organised by Truman Books and takes place at the Old Woollen, Sunnybank Mills, 83-85 Town Street, Farsley. Doors open at 7pm.
