Human Rites: In conversation with Juno Dawson
Always double check opening hours with the venue before making a special visit.

Juno Dawson is well known for using her writing as a force for good in the discourse around social issues, particularly in LGBTQ+ politics. Her fearless way with the pen sees compassion and understanding sitting alongside a defiant voice which refuses to stand aside in the face of social inequality. She will be visiting Queer Lit for an evening of wit, warmth and honesty about her new book Human Rites.
After the success of previous titles This Book Is Gay and Clean, Human Rites is the eagerly awaited final installment in the ‘Her Majesty’s Royal Coven’ series. The books follow a sisterhood of witches who encompass the multitudes of womanhood as they navigate their problems. The stories are the perfect crossroads of intersectional feminism and spirituality. At times hilarious and heart breaking, Dawson’s characters sing through the page towards the varied experience of a shared humanity.
In this in-conversation event Dawson will be sharing some insight into her writing process as well as entering into discussions around some of the themes the book holds. There will also be a chance for audience members to ask questions of the author, letting long time fans know the truth behind their unanswered questions from the books as well as giving new readers opportunity to peak their curiosities.
As a writer and activist Juno Dawson always brings a certain warmth and charm to her work in any capacity. So you can be sure the evening will be filled with as many laughs as it is poignant questions.
