Join Factory International for three glamorous nights of runway performance showcasing Manchester’s underground clubland and nu-wave cabaret scene. Expect killer dance moves, a glorious club soundtrack and jaw-dropping fashion when the House of Manchester struts into Aviva Studios this June.

Happening as part of Factory International’s thrilling 2024 spring/summer season, House of Manchester presents three glittering nights of sequins, sashaying and lip syncing. Think Project Runway meets Ru Paul’s Drag Race with a cheeky pinch of Mancunian spice. Packed with high drama and fierce competition, the event will see Manchester’s glitterati descend onto the runway to battle it out for ultimate supremacy.

Performers will slay the runway in six categories: We Dress, We Sing, We Dance, We Strip, We Lip Sync, We Are Family – with the audience judging who will snatch the glittering crown.

House of Manchester has been created by the infamous vogue artist, choreographer and native Mancunian Darren Pritchard and his long-time collaborator Rikki Beadle-Blair, who also hosts the event.

House of Manchester draws on Ballroom Culture, a movement that began in the 1960s within New York’s black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities. Ballroom Culture was later popularised by the award-winning documentary Paris Is Burning, Madonna’s iconic 1990 hit ‘Vogue’ and, more recently, in the Emmy Award-winning prime-time TV series Pose.

A tremendous celebration for the LGBTQ+ community, House of Manchester promises a spectacular night of high-drama and joyous celebration. Don’t miss out.
