This concert premieres two brand new works by Heloise Tunstall-Behrens and Lia Su, two of five artists chosen to participate in the Huddersfield Professional Development Programme for Female Composers of Electronic Music. Through this project, artists had the unparalleled opportunity to work with the Huddersfield Immersive Sound System (HISS), using its monolithic network of 48 channels and 66 speakers to expand the scope of their music.

Heloise Tunstall-Behrens has made sound art, played in indie bands and written experimental operas. She is interested in sounds as community. She’s previously created field recordings of bees making honey together; she’s recently spent time studying the flocking patterns of birds and learning folk songs in Georgia. Her new work, Petroglyph, contiunes her interest in collectives and networks, and further develops her approach to ’archeo-acoustics’.
