Field Hospital for Eco-Anxiety in the Orangery
Always double check opening hours with the venue before making a special visit.

Eco-anxiety is a feeling known to many, with a constant deluge of bad news about the destruction of natural environment feeding our worry. Dunham Massey‘s beautiful Orangery has become a place that can help with alleviating exactly this – Field Hospital for Eco-Anxiety is now open, offering a space to rest and connect with nature.
Dunham Massey has worked closely with The Edible Bus Stop®, Not here to be liked and Internal Garden to create this temporary retreat for weary visitors. Filling the Orangery with tropical plants, images of early botanical illustrations and sounds created using the process of biosonification. The biorhythms of three plants (a Never never plant, a Swiss cheese plant and and Polka dot begonia) have been translated into sounds, specifically tuned to a frequency that promotes relaxation.
The Field Hospital for Eco-Anxiety is a place where worries are acknowledged, accepted and can temporarily dissipate in the restful ambiance of plant music.
