During a 10-day residency at Islington Mill in early 2016, Liverpool trio Ex-Easter Island Head (EEIH) were joined by an ensemble of guitarists from a variety of musical backgrounds and artistic disciplines. Together, they composed an ambitious piece of music that was then performed to a sold out audience at the mill.

The so-called ‘Salford Large Electric Ensemble’ returns to the live arena this month, with a performance at Birmingham’s Supersonic Festival – plus this second chance to catch the composition in Manchester.

Featuring members of Gnod, Action Beat, ILL and Mother, expect the concert to build on EEIH’s already ambitious sound, incorporating gamelan and harmonic experimentation, and adding mass-amplified strings as well as prepared guitars, basses, and percussion.
