Combining form and function, Enriqueta Rylands established a world-class library with an inspiring atmosphere, built to honour the memory of her philanthropist husband, John Rylands. This tour invites you to journey through the building and discuss Enriqueta’s life and vision for The John Rylands Library. This tour will explain some of the Library’s features and show how, despite its medieval appearance, it was cutting-edge at the time.
