David Lynch - Between Two Worlds
Always double check opening hours with the venue before making a special visit.

David Lynch Between Two Worlds is a major new film season at Hyde Park Picture House that pays homage to the work of the great, recently departed filmmaker. Featuring film screenings, documentary, podcast recordings and talks this is a chance to dive headfirst into the mesmerising, nightmare worlds conjured by Lynch across his career, while learning something about their contexts and creation, and spending time with likeminded film fans.
From feature length documentary David Lynch: The Art Life ( Tue 22 July), to screenings of iconic films including Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man, Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead, the season at HPPH offers an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in a unique body of work. From his early exploration of the hidden horrors of small town Americana and nuclear domesticity, including the expansive Twin Peaks universe, to later, equally dark, excursions within the Hollywood dream Factory, Lynch has captivated generations of moviegoers and earned a committed fanbase.

Those fans will need little introduction to the director and his band of collaborators, but they should be delighted by some of the rarer events on offer at HPPH this summer. Screenings of Lynch’s short films (Tue 5 Aug), plus late period opus INLAND EMPIRE stand out, as does the programme of select episodes of television phenom Twin Peaks which are showing alongside a live Q&A podcast recording with The Evolution of Horror featuring special guests Chris Newton and Bronte Schiltz.
For those new to Lynch, or just eager to learn more about him, The Evolution of Horror are also hosting a David Lynch 101… In a Day film class on Saturday 2 August. Hosted by Mike Muncer and Becky Darke, this “film school in a day” promises to explore David Lynch as a man, an artist, and a personality, asking questions about what makes a David Lynch film, while taking a look at the work outside of cinema, and charting his influence on other filmmakers.
