Following on from previous Jazz Directors Series outings, which have featured Terence Blanchard, Chris Potter and Zoe Rahman over the past two years, critically acclaimed saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Courtney Pine heads up the latest outing by the Inner City Ensemble.

The ever-changing group features seven emerging professional jazz and crossover musicians from around the UK, combining their talents to perform material written by Pine for tuba, trombone, clarinet, piano, drums, trumpet, guitar, double bass and saxophones. Pine himself will feature on saxophones, joined by alumni from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Berklee College of Music, as well as collaborators with the likes of Snarky Puppy and Pharoahe Monch.

The Inner City Ensemble’s short tour begins at Band on the Wall, before continuing to Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club (23 Feb), The Grand in Clitheroe (24 Feb) and the Grand Theatre in Lancaster (25 Feb). Visit the link below for details on all four dates.
