Get yourself in the festive mood at Christmas By The Sea, Blackpool’s iconic winter wonderland.

Located on the headland opposite Blackpool Tower, the ever-popular outdoor village is shaping up for its biggest event yet. This year’s Christmas By The Sea features everything from simulated snowfalls, cosy log cabins, light installations and magical light projection shows. Oh, and there’s a free ice rink too.

Blackpool is renowned for its fairground rides, so it’s no surprise that Christmas By Sea has a whole host of them. Little ones can spend time on the Tea Cups, Helter Skelter and the 100ft Snow Slide, while teens and adults can test out the Snow Dome, Superbob and Star Flyer – one of Europe’s tallest swing rides.

Visitors can also take festive tram rides up and down the promenade while enjoying Blackpool’s iconic illuminations, which are on display until 5 January. Tram rides run every Friday and Saturday evening in December.

Food and drink wise, you’ll find all manner of tasty treats in the Christmas Chalets. With more choices than ever before, you can get stuck into Bavarian sausages, Yorkshire pudding wraps, gyros, burgers, cookie dough and churros. We’d also recommend a glass of mulled wine if you fancy a tipple or two.

And if all of that wasn’t quite enough, you’ll also be able to do a spot of Christmas shopping too. Be sure to check out the excellent cheese hampers, as well as the homemade soap and bath bombs. You’ll also find a few pop-up shops full of Christmas decorations and Blackpool-themed gifts.

Christmas By The Sea is open from 15 November – 5 January 2025, 12pm – 9pm daily (excluding Christmas Day). While entry is free, some areas of the village require tickets or have to be paid for.
