Seeing children let loose to the joy of live music for the first time is one of those heart-soaring moments for all involved yet why is there so little opportunity for it?

Lucky for us that award-winning clarinettist Arun Ghosh has developed a new show for young audiences from bumps to those cooler kids in double figures.  Moving, grooving and playing along is encouraged through a narrated, upbeat musical journey through different landscapes of the world.

Expect to foot-stomp to different musical styles including hip-hop and South Asian music. There will be double bass and tabla as well as Ghosh’s signature clarinet in this clever, interactive performance which adapts and responds to the age ranges and wishes of the audience, with the chance to join the band too.

Winner of Jazz Instrumentalist of the year and cover star of September’s Jazzwise magazine, Bolton-born Ghosh has an international reputation for outstanding  energetic and original shows and is an all-round pretty cool guy (technical jazz term).  We’re packing our dancing shoes right about now.

Big Imaginations Jazz Club is part of the Big Imaginations Festival which brings 9 remarkable shows to 26 venues across the North West this autumn. See it at Unity, Liverpool on 20 October, Z-arts on 26 October, Theatre Delicatessen, Sheffield on 29 October, The Turnpike, Wigan on 1 November and The Boo, Rossendale on 2 November.
