The fantastic A Lovely Time returns to GRUB‘s Chapeltown Picture House, on Saturday 2nd October with another amazing line-up featuring some of the best comedians around today. This month Hayley Ellis takes over on MC duties following a stellar set last month.

Joining Hayley will be red-haired wizard Alasdair Beckett-King (as seen on BBC One’s Mock the Week) who’ll be headlining the gig after having to postpone a few months ago due to England’s ill-fated footballing spree through the Euros, plus the raved-about Lou Conran and hotly-tipped Erika Ehler.

If you’ve been before you know just how great a night out it is

To quote A Lovely Time’s co-founder John Stansfield, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Hayley back with us and that we finally get to have the magical Alasdair Beckett-King on!”

And, as ever, we can’t speak highly enough of GRUB. Go early, grab some food from the dazzling array of street food vendors, swig a few quality drinks and just sit back and enjoy one of the best community-focused spaces in Manchester (see our full review from last year here). As far as the Green Quarter goes, GRUB is by far the standout destination for locals and well worth a visit for residents of all of the city’s many other math-defying quarters.

But Saturday’s big draw is the comedy. If you’ve been before you know just how great it is, and if you’re a newcomer, strap in for an exceptionally lovely time.
