The building was a gift to the village of Bowdon from the family of local silk manufacturer, Spencer Henry Bickham.
Known as The Assembly Rooms on construction in 1903, the venue is an ideal choice for functions that require a bit of sophistication or old school grandeur. Indeed, The Bowdon Rooms is particularly popular for weddings, as planners and full licencing ensure that the venue can cater for everything from the ceremony through to dancing under the chandeliers suspended from the dramatic 40-foot domed ceiling in the main ballroom.
