Let There Be Crumbs

Found down near the beach on Roker seafront, Let There Be Crumbs is a pleasant café inside Roker Hotel. The reputation of this tearoom and eatery has grown and developed since its opening in 2015. It has become one of the best locations in Sunderland for their patisseries, brunch or just to pop-in for a tea or coffee after a walk down on the seafront. The café is primarily known for its cake counter, which gives the reason for the cafés name. That being the case, you are unlikely to leave crumbs due to how good the food is. Because of how good these sugary treats are, the reputation of Let There Be Crumbs has grown to become a pilgrimage site for the sweet-toothed. Their patisseries are made each day so their clientele can enjoy the freshest cakes on their own or as a part of their popular afternoon tea.

It is not just patisserie that is available, breakfasts can also be enjoyed. From the traditional full English through to modern treats like smashed avocado, the breakfast will satisfy before you start your day. The chefs also have taken inspiration from across the world with their flatbreads taking Mediterranean inspiration – braised lamb, couscous and Greek yogurt being the Greek options, while the chicken chorizo and chilli providing the zestier option for customers. Asian treats are also available with Bao buns for those looking for a tasty quick snack. The beer garden at Let There Be Crumbs is just as fantastic as their cake – and does not just have to be enjoyed with a beer. With wonderful views of Roker pier and the North Sea, you can enjoy a fresh sea breeze on a summers day or enjoy the warmth of their heaters on the chiller days. For a range of tasty delights, a trip to Let There Be Crumbs will satisfy for certain.
